This exceptional itinerary combines adventure and serenity: a four-day trek deep into the pristine rainforest of Marojejy National Park, home to rare lemurs and breathtaking landscapes, followed by two days of comfort, culture, and vanilla immersion at the tranquil Domaine d'Ambohimanitra, along Madagascar's captivating Vanilla Coast.

Day 1 : Antananarivo - Sambava
- Arrival and reception at the airport, followed by a private transfer to Soaland Appart’s.
- Welcome briefing upon arrival.
- Lunch at Soaland Appart’s in a relaxed, local atmosphere.
- In the afternoon, guided tour of Sambava town and a scenic stop at Ampandrozonana beach.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Soaland Appart’s Sambava
Day 2 : Sambava - Marojejy
- Departure from Sambava at 6:00 a.m., with arrival at the Manantenina park office around 7:00 a.m.
- A short transfer brings you to the village of Mandena, where your trek begins at approximately 7:30 a.m.
- You will hike through lush rainforest trails toward Camp I Mantella, arriving between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. After a picnic lunch, enjoy a visit to the beautiful Humbert Waterfall, and take time to swim or explore the surroundings in search of Bamboo lemurs, often seen near the camp.
- In the early afternoon, continue your trek for about one hour to reach Camp II Marojejy nestled deeper in the forest. This area is home to one of Madagascar’s rarest and most iconic primates, the Silky Sifaka (Propithecus candidus), known locally as the “Simpona”, with its unique snow-white fur found only in this region.
- Dinner and overnight at Camp II.
Day 3 : Marojejy
- After breakfast around 7:30 a.m., take a moment to appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of Marojejy Camp II, surrounded by lush rainforest home to tree ferns, orchids, and pandanus.
- Begin a three-hour hike towards Simpona Camp III, following a trail rich in biodiversity. Along the way, watch for chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, and endemic birds like the Helmet Vanga.
- With some luck, you may spot the rare Silky Sifaka once again, as well as other lemur species native to the region.
Arrive at Simpona Camp III in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a short walk to the belvedere (1,250 m), offering stunning views over the rainforest canopy and surrounding peaks. - Dinner and overnight at Simpona Camp III.
Day 4 : Marojejy
- After an early breakfast (around 5:30 or 6:00 a.m.), set out for a three-hour hike to the summit of Marojejy, at 2,132 meters. The trail climbs through lush cloud forest, where tree ferns, lichens, and orchids thrive in the misty atmosphere. Along the way, watch for high-altitude species such as colorful frogs, chameleons, and endemic birds like the Pollen’s Vanga.
- At the summit, if skies are clear, take in a spectacular 360° view stretching across rainforest, jagged peaks, and the distant Indian Ocean.
- After returning to Simpona Camp III for lunch, continue the descent to Marojejy Camp II in the afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight at Marojejya Camp II.
Day 5 : Marojejy - Domaine d'Ambohimanitra
- After a leisurely breakfast around 7:00 a.m., enjoy a relaxed morning at Marojejya Camp II, taking in the last moments of the rainforest.
- Lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m., followed by the descent around 12:00 p.m. The trek back to the village of Mandena takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on pace and trail conditions.
- At Mandena, a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Sambava, then onward to Domaine d’Ambohimanitra.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the Domaine d’Ambohimanitra.
Day 6 : Domaine d'Ambohimanitra
- After breakfast around 9:00 a.m., enjoy a guided visit of the Ambohimanitra Estate (60 hectares), where you will explore vanilla plantations, various vanilla plant varieties, and nurseries of local species. Learn in detail about the planting and hand-pollination process of the vanilla flower, as well as every stage from flower to vanilla pod.
- To complete your vanilla experience, a vanilla-scented meal will be served on a terrace boasting panoramic views.
- In the afternoon, unwind and relax on our private beach.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Domaine d’Ambohimanitra.
Day 7 : Domaine d'Ambohimanitra - Antananarivo
- Departure Day, Farewell from the Vanilla Coast
- Enjoy breakfast and a light lunch at the Domaine d’Ambohimanitra before your transfer to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo.
